ScriptSlat is a video transcription and translation platform that converts uploaded videos into clean transcripts, translated scripts, and voice-ready output. The system is built around a step-based workflow that tracks every phase of processing from upload to final video generation. Final translation keeps background sounds of the original video and replace vocals only.

Workflow

1. Upload — Videos are uploaded to Azure Storage and tracked as a new project.
2. Transcribe — Speech-to-text runs in the worker service and produces timestamped segments.
3. Translate — Users edit translations and assign speaker voices for accurate playback.
4. Generate — Azure Video Translation creates the final translated video.
5. Deliver — Final files are served through the CDN for quick playback.

Credits & Pricing

ScriptSlat uses a credit-based billing model. Credits are deducted only after a successful video generation step. Pricing is based on the duration of the uploaded video.

10 credits per minute of video.

Credits are charged only after generation completes successfully.

Discount tiers

25–100 credits: 0% off
100–200 credits: 5% off
200–300 credits: 7% off
300–500 credits: 10% off

Payments are processed through Stripe, and a secure checkout link is created for each credit purchase.

Translation Pipeline

ScriptSlat orchestrates transcription and translation with worker services. The system supports multiple speakers, voice assignment, and iterative translation refinement before generation.

• Transcription segments are editable and stored with timestamps.

• Translations can be updated before regenerating the final video.

• Speaker voices are selected per speaker for consistent output.

Video Delivery

Final videos are stored in Azure Blob Storage and streamed via Azure CDN. The application redirects stream requests to the CDN to reduce latency and improve playback speed.

• CDN base URL is configured in `Cdn:BaseUrl`.
• Video links include container and user-specific paths.
• Range requests are supported for smooth playback.

Security & Data

Files are stored privately in Azure Storage. Access is controlled through authenticated routes and SAS links for internal processing. User data and billing records are stored in the application database.

• Video blobs are not public; CDN serves cached copies.
• Credit purchases are tracked with Stripe session IDs.
• Sensitive keys are stored in app settings.
